Louise Hay is one of my idols. Dubbed “the closest thing to a living saint” by the Australian media, Louise is kind of a really big deal in my world!! Her first book, “Heal Your Body,” was published the year I was born–long before it was fashionably cool to look INWARD for the answers to life’s biggest problems.
Louis Hay was a PIONEER of the self-help movement. And since it’s inception, I’ve been intrigued by the self-help genre, too. I can remember browsing the big box book store in my local mall as a teenager for HOURS. getting lost in the sea of advice hidden behind those pretty covers with asthetic coloring and “funky” fonts, each declaring to show me a different way of reaching my true potential. I remember just knowing that I would forever be in pursuit of the best version of me and that these would be “my people.” I longed for the good feelings that came with learning, creating and challenging my mind and I soaked up all that I could from articles and books, not knowing that just around the bend would be the age of the internet and access to all of the information I could ever imagine!!
I thank God every day for Louise Hay, and for all of those that have come before and after her that have blessed me with their vast wisdom and systems for growth and development in their books, courses, workshops and lectures. Through the years, I have been educated by some of the greats-from centuries old teachings of early philosophers and Christian mystics, to current multi-billion dollar motivational speakers, and even my very own therapists and life coaches, my life view has been shaped and molded by all of this “self-help” information. It has been the foundation for untangling some mis-guided beliefs I picked up along the way. And it has given me the insane desire to help other people do the same.
We are lucky to be alive at a time when science continues to prove much of what these great “gurus” have been trying to teach us. My mission as a Mind, Body, Spirit coach is to remove the stigma of spiritual connectedness as “woo woo” and help to shine light on some very practical ways we can each begin to understand this deep connection to ourselves, eachother and the universe. My philosophy of coaching and the reason for this blog mirrors Louise Hay’s advice for optimal health and well-being as stated below, and I look forward to sharing information that will motivate and inspire you to take the steps to create the happy, healthy and balanced life you deserve.
“For us to become whole and healthy, we must balance the body, mind, and spirit. We need to take good care of our bodies. We need to have a positive mental attitude about ourselves and about life. And we need to have a strong spiritual connection...
When these three things are balanced, WE CAN REJOICE IN LIVING.” – Louise Hay
